What follows are links to all the things we do or would have soon done in our 4K, 5K, and 1st grade classes! For some students these will be review and they will be new for others. In a typical music class, we do a series of 8 different steps, so all activities are 5 minutes or less. You could do one each day, pick a few to do once a week, or use them as jumping off points for teaching songs and games you might remember from when you were little! Sharing songs, stories, fingerplays, and singing together is a great way to encourage the musical development of your child and a wonderful bonding activity for the entire family - the best part is no one will judge you if you sing out of tune! It's If you or your student remember a song or game from my music class or elsewhere and you're having trouble finding or remembering it, please reach out and let me know! I have a ton of videos that are not published online and I am happy to record myself singing/showing/demonstrating any song or game! Please email me at [email protected] if I can be any help or if you just want to share!
Jill Trinka on Youtube - This lovely collection houses most of the songs we sing in all 3 grades. 4K and 5K mostly use There's a Hole in the Bucket and Had a Little Rooster, while 1st grade uses Old Joe Clark and There's a Hole in the Bucket. You can also search for "Jill Trinka" followed by the name of the song you want to hear and it will usually come up! Songtales - This is a list of all the songtales currently available from GIA publishing. When you click on a link to a book, scroll down and you will find free mp3 recordings if they are available! There is more to come for our littlest friends, so stay tuned!
